Liberty
I was listening to a brief excerpt of Pres. Trump's speech over the weekend before the Religious Liberty Commission where many leaderships from different denominations of faith in the America were in attendance. I didn't listen to whole thing, but the President did speak about ensuring America's religious freedom was maintained and he spoke also about the need for America to have religion in its culture and society. I get that. However, I did not hear the Name of Jesus mentioned, and I did not hear a call to repentance, and that's the thing that strikes me most. I know there are many believers in America and around the world who are probably consistent in their prayers to the LORD for us to have governmental leadership that worships Him in Spirit and in Truth, and that would be bold to call America to repentance. I consider, what is the worth of our liberty or our freedom in the United States of America, if we are not free in Christ? Is America's freedom just about doing whatever we want? Is it about being free to run wild and without any concern for anything?
I find it intriguing that the word for liberty in the Hebrew language in connected to not just Jubilee, but it's connected to myrrh. The bitter gum whose oil was used, as commanded by God, to make the Holy Anointing oil for the temple and the priests. You can find that in Lev. 25:10. It's related to rapid movement, a flowing, free run, the spontaneity of outflow, clear and pure. A cross-reference in the Scripture is Exodus 30:23 and it is related to fine flowing myrrh. A look deeper into myrrh shows us that it is related to bitterness. There is really so much there to study about myrrh and its relationship to Christ. It behooves us all to delve into the Scriptures and study the words in Hebrew and Greek to gain better understanding of what the Word of God is speaking about in these things.
But here is the thought about liberty and even our religious liberty in America tonight:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the majesty of Your Grace found in Christ Jesus that allows us to come before You in prayer. And as we come before You, we ask forgiveness of our sins. We stand in the gap and make up the hedge for our nation, O LORD, and we ask forgiveness for this nation that finds itself steeped in sins. Let us cry aloud and spare not, O LORD, as Your people, as the Church in America that is even around the world, when You look upon this place, O LORD, forgive! Let us stand boldly before You and cry out to You for America and all found herein to Repent of our sins. The feast of the blowing of the trumpets is soon upon us again and we know that You are coming soon and the Master Clock of the Father is turning and moving ahead and overhead and we've got to repent here in this nation. Forgive us in America O LORD, for we have turned against You and we have allowed society and our cities and children to fall away from You and Your Word! Forgive us for this O Righteous Father. We need You and there is no other that we can call upon to be saved. Have mercy upon America in this hour, O LORD. Pour out Your Spirit, we pray, upon this nation's leaders in all their respective offices, that they would hear the sound of the trumpet and would just fall down... fall down on their faces and cry out to for forgiveness, in repentance of the wickedness and the evil doings that are taking place continually. Father GOD! Let America bow before You and repent of Her sins, sins so great and so foul. Have Mercy upon us, upon our states and cities, upon our elderly, our children and grandchildren, the precious seeds and souls that make up this nation that You raised up to spread the Gospel of Your Son to the world. Forgive us O GOD that we have forgotten You... that we have forgotten the precious words of Grace and Hope but also of coming Judgement that Yeshua declared to the world. Forgive us, LORD. Forgive us for having put our flesh and our own lusts and perverse desires before You. Forgive us for the blatant idolatry going on all across this land! Let us not let go of the horns of Your altar O GOD until we see true repentance and revival come to the soul of America through Her people... all the peoples of the world live on this land, O LORD, and there is so much mixture of spirits and ideas and ways that are just not of Your or Your Holy Spirit. By Your Mercies O GOD, let the Holy Spirit of Yeshua come upon us as a nation that we would walk in the liberty that You have ordained... that as Christ declared and proclaimed liberty to the captives. You've given Your Son, Your Precious Blood to set us free from the slavery to sin. Hear the cries of our hearts today, O LORD, as we ask forgiveness, as we repent of lying, cheating, murder, thievery, perversion, corruption, violence and hatred and unforgiveness, profanity.... forgive us in America, Lord Jesus. We call you America to repentance before the LORD Jesus Christ! Repent for the Kingdom of GOD IS at hand and He's about to step His Foot back down on this Earth. Let us heed the call O GOD in this nation that a true revival would break forth! We believe You for it, Blessed Father, LORD and King. We believe You for it in our individual lives, in our families, in our nation and throughout this Earth. Great is Your Mercy and Grace in the Precious Name of Jesus! Amen and Amen!!
Thank you for this timely lesson.
ReplyDeleteThe Word of God says that He will judge the nations. When Jesus returns, He will rule the nations “with a rod of iron.” The Book of Acts says that the Lord established the nations and set their boundaries. Prophecies of End Time events in scripture involve the nations, especially in their relationship with Israel. This is very interesting, and it is very important how a nation as a whole relates to Christ. Who is He to that nation? Each and every nation of the earth has been salted with believers in Christ. So it is necessary to ask, “Has this purifying salt of the believers in Christ lost its savor?” Yes, I look outward and see, and say, “Repent,” but I very much think, and even fear, that this will require me to look inward, into my own heart, and say to it, “Repent.” Only then, I think, will I be effective and believable in leading others to the place of reconciliation with our God and Father. Forgive me, Lord, and by Your precious Holy Spirit, lead me to the place of repentance, and I will promise to lead others to that Way also. Change my heart, Lord, so that I will shine upon my nation with the Light of Christ. Amen.
Amen! Amen! It appears that every day is timely for us now... every day. Thank you for taking time to be here. The LORD bless you and keep you.
DeleteA beautiful call to prayer Sister Fran ! A true NEED for our Nation in this hour. Myrrh also played a pivotal role in our redemption thru the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus 🙏🏾 Pastor
