On Ten Strings

The nation is approaching the holiday season with Thanksgiving just days away, and the world does its thing with food and festivities, gatherings with family and friends, more food, football, shopping and more food. Yet for those who celebrate the holiday with consideration toward the LORD God, it can mean so much more than all the other stuff we do. Personally, I enjoy the understanding that "thanksgiving" is an attitude and way of being that transcends time frames and really is for every day, even every moment, because it's being grateful to our Heavenly Father and to Jesus our Lord.  Earlier this week I listened to an extraordinary discussion about the Creation and certain perspectives from Scripture along with some scientific perspectives as well that I found fascinating. As it is with the LORD and how He loves to confirm things to His people, it was just a day later from hearing that discussion that one of the devotionals I enjoy each day had me looking at Psalm 92....

Songs of Deliverance

A Dear friend prayed for me today while I was busy at work and it was at once a relief and a joy to receive a simple prayer of faith and reminder of God's love for me. It reminded me of a favorite verse of Holy Scripture: Psalm 32:7 Thou [art] my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. The truth of God's Word is so beautifully penetrating into the soul that it renews one's spirit... it's like being "born again" in the blink of an eye!  Have you ever considered how the LORD Himself, the Father and the Son AND His Holy Spirit sings songs over you?  The verse begins with our own declaration of Who GOD is to us, Who He is to each one of us personally. He IS MY Hiding Place. The Hebrew word for "hiding place" is de...

Warnings!

While watching and praying over certain events across the nation and the world this week, I heard the Spirit of the LORD say to me "The people do not heed warnings." I could only agree with the truth of that statement and it goes all across the board, meaning it's the people of God, the people of this nation and all others...it's believer and non-believer alike. People do not heed warnings!  The weather trackers could announce a deadly storm is approaching, or that there will be flooding in the cities and rural areas... that the winds are coming and may blow down power lines... In fact, they'll put out reminder warnings about not going near downed power lines and not to try and drive through a flooded street because it may look passable to you eye from a distance, but once you're in it your vehicle can wind up flooding and stalling out and there you are, trapped and needing rescue. Think of all the kinds of warnings we get from day to day. Medication warnings...
